Glamour Girls

Sunday was a crazy day! I had three clients attending different Oscar night fetes. First, Nicole Richie who was walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards with the official DJ of the ceremony, fiance Joel Madden. Then, my two lovlies Emma Stone and Kat Dennings were both attending Graydon Carter’s famous Vanity Fair party at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

I had a wild week filled with tons of last minute schedule changes and lots of racing around L.A. like a lunatic. In the end I couldn’t have been happier with how gorgeous each girl looked. Each make up really reflected their own unique sense of style which is my greatest goal as a make up artist. I had a really great time but let’s just say I’m happy the Oscars are only once a year!

On Nicole Richie I created a super dramatic Verushka inspired ’60s eye to go with her beautiful floor length beaded Reem Acra dress. I used soft blues and greys and some MAJOR liquid eyeliner for a totally mod look.

On Emma Stone I went for a bold coral red lip-Chanel Rouge Coco in Cambon, AMAZING! Paired with a perfectly drawn Lauren Bacall brow, she was transformed into a full on modern starlet!

On Kat Dennings it was all about bronzed eyes and cocoa lips.

The Body Beautiful

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to get to work with women I admire and in Christina Hendricks’ case pretty much worship. I mean, could she be more of EVERYTHING worth celebrating about being a woman? I am so happy she has unwittingly become the poster child for modern femininity. We need more reasons to bask in the glory of our figures and celebrate what makes our bodies different from men, um HELLO! Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate Kate Moss’ style as much as the next girl, but when it comes down to the feminine ideal, I think most men would agree a woman with the frame of a teenage boy isn’t quite what makes them crazy.

We shot this cover just a few weeks back and I knew right away it was going to cause a stir. The inspiration of the day was Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”, which doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m sure if Botticelli were alive today Christina would be his kind of lady.

Cosmo Girl

I had the pleasure of working with the very down to earth Carrie Underwood for her March cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine. We shot the cover last fall in NYC with Photographer Cliff Watts. I remember it being a really fun day and I think she looks beautiful and, of course, very Cosmo. You know you’ve made when you get asked to be a Cosmo girl, right? Well, this girl must be something because this is her third!

Kat Eyes

I admit, I’m slightly obsessed with Kat Dennings. To me, she is a total modern beauty. Did I mention that working with her is a dream? This girl is funny, smart and happens to be the epitome of unconventional GORGEOUSNESS! (Is that a word?) Oh well, I digress…

For the premiere of her new movie “Defendor” last night Kat decided to wear this beautiful, sleek Stella McCartney Tux jacket paired with the most incredible Brian Atwood taupe patent heels. What else to do but a serious cat eye and muted beige lips right? Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Beige Felin to be exact.

She looked amazing as usual, watch out for this beauty because 2010 just may turn out to be the year of the Kat.
