Marisa Miller: Captain Morgan’s First Mate

A few months back I worked on these new Captain Morgan ads featuring the incredible Marisa Miller as the Captain’s new “First Mate.” They were shot in Puerto Vallarta Mexico with photographer Tom Munro.

We literally sailed the high seas creating these ads and all I’m gonna say is thank God for Dramamine! Some of these photos were actually taken on The Black Pearl itself for all those Pirates of the Caribbean fans out there.

I have a difficult time ever calling what I do with with Marisa work. We laugh way too much for that! Marisa may be the sweetest, most professional girl I’ve ever worked with, no exaggeration.

I did her makeup while rocking back and fourth on a boat and not a peep. We had sand everywhere—and I mean everywhere—not a peep. The heat made it hard to breath at times, not a peep. Then I watched as she held her own in a sword fight while donning all black leather in 110 degree humidity. They don’t call this woman a supermodel for nothing, she’s a total champion.

All in all it was an adventure I am very grateful for. I got to stand on the mast of a Pirate ship at night and watch a thunderstorm roll in, I got to work with an incredibly talented team of people and I even managed to sneak in a few margaritas by the pool before heading to the airport. Life is sweet my friends and you won’t hear a peep from me.
