Jennifer Lawrence: Palm Springs Film Festival

If you haven’t already heard of the insanely talented Jennifer Lawrence, you will soon. Her role as Ree in last years critically acclaimed Winter’s Bone has already garnered her a slew of awards including Golden Globes, SAG and Independent Spirit Award nominations for best actress. It’s safe to say that after gracing the cover of W, playing Mystique in the new X-Men prequel and most likely earning an Oscar nod, 2011 is looking to be pretty epic for our little Ms. Lawrence!
Accolades aside, Jennifer has to be one of the most down-to-earth, no nonsense, sarcastically witty girls I’ve had the pleasure to work with and I cannot wait to see her hold her own amongst fellow nominees Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Williams and Halle Berry on Golden Globe Sunday!

Last night Jennifer was awarded the “Rising Star” award at the 22nd Annual Palm Springs Film Festival by Oliver Stone and I was thrilled to be there to get her ready for such an awesome moment. She wore a bright blue and black Oscar De La Renta who’s sleek silhouette had me inspired to go in a slightly retro direction with her make up. I decided to keep it very this century, using only light weight see-through formulations, steering clear of mattes and velvet textures altogether.
Jennifer has THE most incredible skin ever so I kept it as bare as possible using only the faintest amount of Make Up For Ever Body Make Up in #20 applied with a beauty blender sponge. I warmed up her cheekbones with Hourglass cosmetics Illume Bronze Duo in Sunset and created a soft shimmering version of a ’60s cat eye with Chanel Le Crayon Yeux Gris Scintillant pencil, an amazing new sparkling pewter pencil for Spring.
After adding a few individual lashes and two coats of black Guerlain mascara on both the top and bottom, I lined her lips with Shisiedo Soothing Lip pencil in “Anemone” buffing off any excess with a Q-tip before applying Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Liberte for a super sheer pale apricot lip—another new color from Chanel’s incredible Spring collection. I finshed by dusting just the center of her face with Koh Gen Do Maifanshi invisible loose powder.
I am having the best time working with Jennifer and look forward to having a little helping hand in this new Hollywood star sparkling very, very brightly.
