January Jones Art of Elysium

This was January’s first night out since becoming a mom and WOW did she look incredible! She wore a simplistic Chanel couture shift dress with embellished sleeves, it had a real 1960s feel to it. I decided to play up her eyes with a strong graphic shape and reflective emerald green shadow. I used Rouge Coco Shine in “Boy” one of my all time favs on her lips for a soft transparent pink mouth that wouldn’t compete with the intensity of the eyes.

She and I attended the event together which took place inside the incredibly restored Union Station downtown LA and we had a such a great time! Dinner was catered by none other than Wolfgang Puck, there was band playing 1920′s classics from an indoor balcony, and an amazing vintage fashion show curated by Decades and styled by my talented friend Elizabeth Stewart. Did I mention the gold dusted vanilla macarons on each table along with a beautiful gold garland crown for every girl to wear in their hair? The theme for the evening was heaven and boy was I in it :)

As it turns out Jan and I were sort of having an unofficial changing of the guard even without my knowledge! That night was her first night out and was to end up being my very last before baby, and I must say it was beautiful note to go out on. It felt so good to be there celebrating the contributions the incredible people from the world of fashion and art who have used their time and resources to help heal and transform the lives of sick and ailing children. I was really touched by how much love there was in the room and what a deep sense of adoration there was for these amazing talented children and how a business that can at times feel as deep as a puddle could offer so much hope and beauty in what could have felt like absolute darkness. It was a beautiful and inspirational night.
