Well, I’m back from three crazy whirlwind days in NY. This time I was actually able to get in a little play time with my husband Frank who was there to help celebrate the launch of the MARKTBEAUTY website. We hadn’t been to NY together in over 10 years and let me just say that many yummy vittles were consumed and many delicious cocktails were imbibed.
The party was held in the Penthouse of the Smyth Hotel in Tribeca and among the many glamourous attendees was radiant young newbie Jennifer Lawrence whom I’ve been working with for the last few months promoting her unbelievable movie Winter’s Bone. Jennifer happens to be quirky, funny and majorly talented—but did I mention how super chic she looks in a tangerine mini dress, mermaid waves and bronzed eyes? Check her out!

I also worked with the uber talented Lea Michele from GLEE for the party using Tom Ford’s new lipstick in “Morrocan Rouge” paired with simple black liner on her lids only and sun kissed cheeks. I can see why Mark loves working with Lea, she has such an amazing spirit and absolutely LOVES fashion.

It was awesome to get to celebrate all the hard work and creative energy that’s been poured into this project for almost a year now, and to think this is just the beginning! I cant wait for all the exciting collaborative adventures around the bend.

I spent Monday night with Emilie De Ravin who was in NY to attend the CFDA awards as the guest of Max Azria and his wife Lubova. She looked stunning in her silverly grey frock, half up half down hair and pewter cat eye. We were clearly inspired by the iconic Catherine Deneuve in Belle du Jour. I think she totally pulled it off what do you think?

Sunday was the MTV Awards and before hopping on a plane to NY I stopped by the awesome Elizabeth Reaser‘s house to get her ready for the red carpet. Some may know her as Mama Cullen or Esme from those little vampire movies, you know the ones. What are they called again? Twigh-something?
Anyway, she looked amazing and I’m sure she must have felt great in her sexy Stella McCartney tuxedo jumpsuit and navy blue rimmed eyes when they won like everything!

This weekend we’re having the very first heat wave of the summer which makes ME of course want to break out a white dress and a melon colored lip gloss a la temptress extraordinaire Kathleen Turner in the 1981 steamy neo-noir classic Body Heat.

I seriously LOVE Body Heat with all it’s southern balminess, sweaty seduction and dark betrayal, It’s a wholesome family movie
Kathleen is the ultimate in ’80s feline perfection in this film, just jaw dropping really, and the chemistry between her and William Hurt is that of silver screen legend.

If you haven’t seen this film before or even if it’s just been a while, I highly recommend you go on a hot date with this movie soon, just don’t blame me when you break a sweat.
