The Screen Actors Guild Awards were yesterday and I had the greatest morning working with one of the most genius comediennes in the world Tina Fey. Tina ended up winning (I had a pretty good feeling she might) for her role as the totally hilarious Liz Lemon on 30 Rock which has to be the funniest show on television! I can’t tell you how much I adore this woman in every way. I kept the make up cool and refined and I thought she looked absolutely stunning in her royal purple Alberta Ferretti dress and 40′s waves.

Here we are again at the Golden Globes, the first of the big award shows of the season. I can’t believe it’s already been a year! I was thrilled to once again be working with the incredibly chic January Jones who was nominated for best actress for her role on MAD MEN.
January’s fashion sense is bold and intuitive. She also happens to have the most impeccable taste, so working with her over the years has been a make up artists dream come true. She’s a major risk taker and never lets anyone dictate her sense of style and this year was no exception.
Her deceptively simple black Lanvin dress was definitely more understated than last years blue Versace number but equally beautiful in my opinion. A richly painted garnet mouth, porcelain skin and lots of lashes were my contribution to her look while hair stylist extraodinaire Mark Townsend tied a black satin ribbon she’d saved from a gift as a headband over a simple french twist. We had way too much fun as usual. She makes me grateful to call this work.

There are certain actresses who continually set the bar higher and, for me, the lovely Julianne Moore has always been one of them. There is this ethereal quality about her that always draws me in. Her talent for creating these powerful emotionally dense characters that remain with you long after the movie ends has made her one of my all time favorites.
I had the pleasure of working with Julianne over the weekend for a BAFTA luncheon she was attending with friend and “A Single Man” director Tom Ford—don’t EVEN get me started on my adoration for Tom, I would need all day!
Julianne is a timeless beauty, a joy to work with and I truly hope she’s only just begun to show the world what she’s got because I certainly plan on watching.

Spent Saturday morning working with Nicole Richie at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza for the launch of her jewelry line House of Harlow. I think the new darker hair color makes her eyes look even more gorgeous!
